The bets in Daily 4 include the same bets that's currently available in the Pick3 - except they You will be able to bet on the front pair, mid pair, back pair, the sum of all 4 numbers as
Definitions & Prize Amounts "Straight" Bets "Box" Bets But in the Daily 4, there are 4 different prizes amounts for box (any) bets - One for a "4 Way Box" (pays $600); one for a "6 Way Box" (pays $400); one for a "12 way box" (pays $200); and one for a "24 way box" (pays $100). Here's why they are different ... A 50 cent 24 way box bet would pay $100. Front Pair, Mid Pair and Back Pair - DO NOT PLAY SUM IT UP WITH THIS WAGER For a 50 cent bet, you'd win $25. A $1 bet would pay $50. In some instances, this could be a pretty good bet so long as you have stats on the numbers! I would think it would take about a year or two to obtain the information you'd really want to make calculated bets on the pairs. Straight/Box Bet Combo Bet There are "24 Ways" that 4 different digits can come in: 1234, 1243, 1324, 1342, 1423, 1432, 2134, 2143, 2314, 2341, 2413, 2431, 3124, 3142, 3241, 3214, 3412, 3421, 4123, 4132, 4213, 4231, 4312, 4321. There are "12 ways" that two like digits (double digits) and two different digits can come in: 0021, 0012, 0120, 0210, 0201, 0102, 1002, 1020, 1200, 2001, 2100, 2010. There are "6 ways" that two like digits (00) and another 2 like digits (11) can come in - 0011, 0110, 1010, 1001, 1100, 0101. There are "4 ways" that 3 like digits (000) and one different digit can come in - 0001, 0010, 0100, 1000. A combo bet means that you are betting that all four of your numbers will be drawn so you are betting every possible combination. Much like wheeling. You will win only one of your bets IF all four of your numbers are drawn in any order because you've bet them all. Cost & Prize Amounts For Combo Bets
Sum It Up The bet is simple - you simply add the four digits drawn and IF you put money on the "Sum it Up" bet and IF that sum is dawn, irregardless of it being the numbers you actually played, then you win your Sum It Up bet. The prize amounts for the Sum It Up bet are less than desirable though. Oct 16, 2007 - Inserted this paragraph - CATCH 22 - Beware players - The TLC allows you to spend your money on a SUM IT UP with "Pair" plays. The problem is, to arrive at your sum, the lottery terminals are adding your 2 numbers but it's the sum of FOUR numbers that wins the bet. Complaint was filed with the AG on Oct. 11, 2007 regarding this issue. Read story - Click here. Very important - To play the "Sum It Up," you have to have made another bet. You can't play the Sum it UP feature without making another bet so you will spend at least $1 to play. If you play Straight/Box/Lucky Sum and you select "50 cent play," your ticket will cost you $1.50. That is 50 cent for each bet ... the "straight" bet, the "box" bet and the "lucky sum" bet. Advice For Players: Don't bet $2, $3, $4, and $5 on a set of numbers. There is a key on the terminals that clerks can use to run multiple tickets for the drawing. I realize few retail clerks know how to use the "number of plays" key on their terminals but some do so find one that does OR fill out a playslip and ask the clerk to run it 5, 10, 20, 30 times so you can avoid going to a claim center to collect your prize and you can avoid that W-2G. Remember, you can collect from retailers any amount under $599 - you may have to go to several retails to collect - but it's worth it! Pick 3 Proposed Changes - Read the Details |
