July 2, 2002 Since the Texas lottery posted the wrong results, why didn't they or the Dallas Morning News print that somewhere? Kathy The Dallas Morning News didn't print the incorrect numbers - as to why they didn't report that the TLC did, I can't answer that. As far as why the TLC didn't post a correction or retraction on their web site, I can't answer that either. Actually, the Texas Lottery never posts retractions but Keith Elkins claims to be a "professional" and further states that I am not (even though I only tell the truth and I post retractions). Anyway, the TLC will only tell you that they post a disclaimer stating "In the event of a discrepancy between this list and the official winning numbers list, the official winning numbers shall prevail." Though this disclaimer is not on all their pages at all times. The TLC is a state agency. They do not have to adhere to consumer laws which includes advertising laws like the private industry does. Sad ... huh? Kathy's 2nd message: Very sad, probably alot of people, myself included, threw away my tickets for those drawings. well, I won't do it again. now I go to your web site immediately after the drawings and compare the numbers. thanks for trying to help us poor fools who give the lottery too much money. YOU GO GIRL! P.S. when is Don's next pick 3 prediction? his last one is really on the money, and 2 of 3 of the numbers he picked are still coming in!
July 2, 2002 I track my data by hand. To my knowledge, there is no software that will give the times each number has been drawn together. Thanks for your kind words.
July 2, 2002 Yes, I post that on the "Lotto Texas Money Page" where I show who the winners were and how the TLC came out financially. It's easy to browse through and see what the tickets were though not as easy as just seeing a list. Here is a link directly to that page and you'll see at the top of each new table what each win was. www.lottoreport.com/prizepayouts.htm
June 6, 2002 I've been playing this set of numbers on and off for about 2 months now. When the TLC went to 2 a day drawings I refused to spend twice the money to play the day pick also. Well you guessed it, my number 479 came up in the day pick just a couple of days ago. I was so PO'd at the TLC for trying to dig deeper into my pockbook, sorry about my venting here but I'm going to have to reevaluate my playing of the Pick 3. Regards to Dawn and Don Yes, I understand EXACTLY what you are saying. This is why I quit playing the day the second drawing started. My luck is like yours and I didn't want to be faced with the feelings you have now. I'm going to post your message on my web site. Let's see how many other folks this has already happened to. Sorry about the loss.
June 6, 2002 The money from the lottery is simply used to lessen the amount the state has to put in each year for the schools. You see, the amount the lottery brings in is a very small percentage of the schools yearly budget. The schools do not get "extra" money, they just get the same ole budgeted amount every year. It's like you owe somebody $100 but you find a $20 bill so now you only have to take $80 from you own pocket to pay the $100. It's the same principal.
June 6, 2002 I am wondering if your predictions are based on the should come or on the past results trends? I use a system based on trends. by: months and by the numbered week of the month and the day of the week. I have a guess ta mate? on what happen each year on a given date day and month. Don uses so many different variations in his picks that I couldn't even begin to name them all. They are all based on probabilites and he waits until the plays have gone way over their average before he plays them. Do you win alot by using this method?
June 6, 2002 Quick comment/question What do "we" (players of the games of texas) petition the lottery commission to create a 2nd drawing for all those unclaimed scratch tickets that players throw away? Let me know (by reply) Good idea but I don't know if the TLC would go for it. You see, the "unclaimed prizes" are not returned to the players - legislature took that money away from us. However, the TLC "could" allow for this in the "prize structure" if they wanted to. Anyway, you'd do the same thing I do, just get a bunch of people to sign a petition or comment on the subject. Also, right now is the perfect time to write the Sunset Commission, as well as the TLC, and make that suggestion. This is exactly what needs to be - players should get the "unclaimed prize" monies. After all, it is part of the players "prize pool" that the state says "shall" be returned to the players! Information about the Sunset Commission is on my web site now.
June 1, 2002 - From Dawn -
Don sent a lenghty message about the"repeats" and "non-arrival" of particular numbers. Click here to go to his page. June 1, 2002 This is a particularly interesting comment to me because in the group of numbers between 1 through 12 ... number "1" has been the "coldest" number - drawn only 13 times since the start of 6/54 - and numbers "4 & 9" are the hottest numbers since the start of 6/54 - both drawn 29 times. In the past 2 years, I have received a great many comments about the Quick Picks where players are "suspicious." One in particular that I recall was originally sent to Professor Gerald Busald then the player sent it to me. Unfortunately, it was a message that I did not have time to research - though I intended to - but still, never did. I will try to find the message and post it for ya'll. As I recall, the player included details at length. Attention Gerald: If you responded with a conclusion, please let me know what you theorized on this message.
5-30-02 Hi Dawn, I'm writing because I'm very suspect about another repeat number for the pick3 today (5-30-02). I have often questioned the TLC as this is another way to keep the money, by having repeating numbers thrown at the poor and innocent players. It appears that TLC may be doing something that could be questionable and this certainly has made me take a step back and look at the whole picture. This year alone there have been more repeats and odd things happening with the pick3, than I have ever seen before. The pick3 started October 25, 1993 and all of the numbers have not played. It took nine years for the 229 to play and 999 has not played as of this date. Certainly this can not be random drawings from (0-9) and the 229 has only played once in nine years and 999 had not yet. I feel that the TLC should be investigated because something is wrong with this picture. Rosalee, Houston The "repeat" of the numbers "550" in the "DAY" draw on 5-29-02 and 5-30-02 is not as shocking to me as the sales and prize figures for those two days. Did you know that the TLC quotes sales for the day draw on 5-29-02 as $241,181 and the prizes won totaled $194,650. Now, for the next day - 5-30-02 - the TLC quotes sales as $250,656.50 and the prizes totaled was $265,960. More money was won on the 2nd day with repeat numbers. Can you imagine that more money was placed on "550" the day after it was drawn? This is very difficult for me to imagine. Since I do not know if the winning tickets were mostly Quick Picks or mostly self picks, I cannot conclude anything for sure. However, I will say that if most were Quick Picks, I would surmise that somehow the Quick Pick tickets "may" not be "randomly" selected by the terminals since that many tickets contained the same numbers that were drawn the day before. "Repeats" like this are rare occurences, therefore, giving players the same numbers drawn the day before could be a big money maker for the state. For your information, on 5-29-02 there were 505 "exact" winning tickets and 855 "any" winning tickets for a total of 1360 winners. On May 30, 2002, there were 580 "exact" winning tickets and 1512 "any" winning tickets for a total of 2092 winners. This is amazing. Don't you think so too? I definitely believe an investigation and explanation is justified.
5-30-02 Hi, Dawn, Yes Molly, one person can make a difference. I strongly suggest that you call your state representative and write the Sunset Advisory Commission about your concerns. The TLC is currently being reviewed and this is the prime time to write them. They are asking for comments and they will listen. I have the contact information on my web site. Just click here. DAWN, thanks so much for the online issue of Lotto Report! Can't wait to start targeting a number as you've recommended. Great work from DON; as usual, he is phenomenal! I do worry about you giving up on Texas and heading for Louisiana, tho. There's no way I will be able to play La Pick-3, so great loss for us here in Texas. I think Roque had a good idea (see last email on this page) ...I've been making two lists of the Pic 3 Drawings, too...one of day and night, and separate lists, too. Helps to find the patterns that way. But without Don, I'm just playing hunches. Sorry to hear you've had a few setbacks after surgery, and hope all will be well with you very soon. You can't keep a good gal down, you know! Best of luck, and many thanks! Elaine in Fort Worth Thank you for such a nice message. I will get better - supposedly within the next 4 weeks.
To: "Dawn" <lottoreport@lottoreport.com > Dawn - I've had quite a few comments like this one but this one summed it ALL up quite nicely. I knew keeping up with 2 draws was going to be difficult and because most people work and playing Pick3 is just "entertainment," it was going to be difficult for ya'll to track. I predict sales for Pick3 will be just like Texas 2 Step, a big decline. But who cares, Pick3 is not a "pari-mutuel" game - the payouts are guaranteed no matter what. Of course, that's when they'll change Pick3 to pari-mutuel game! As far as the Louisisana plays, I'm currently recovering from surgery and when my health improves, I will be covering the LA Pick3. I've had a few medical set backs.
Hello Dawn, She is referring to the May 2, 2002 Cash 5 draw that was NOT conducted by the standards set forth by the TLC. You see, #32 was drawn 4 times which means they were suppose to conduct a 5th pretest which they failed to do. When I originally posted the notice that the draw was "improperly conducted," I was in such shock that I left out the procedure to conduct the 5th pretest draw. Not that it really mattered, the bottom line is that they did NOT follow procedures and I "think" they are going to try to cover it up now. But, for whatever it is worth, I confirmed before posting this news, that there was no 5th pretest drawing held and I confirmed the numbers posted were correct. This was read to me from the "official" forms. And, there is a tape of the drawings that would tell the story. So, what more can I say?
Subject: Don was right about the 7 and the 9--and the double Yes, I agree. He can certainly tell you the status of the numbers and knows what has to be drawn in a Pick3 game. But I suspect the 2 draws per day is going to play a roll in his future predictions - he and I share different viewpoints on this subject so we are going to sit back and let time show us. This is why we will be moving to Louisiana - they only have one draw per day.
DAWN, YOUR HELP FROM YOUR WEBSITE AND THE LOTTO REPORT, ALLOWED ME TO GET 1 PICK OF 4 OF 6 AND 5 CORRECT PICKS OF 3 OF 6. I HAD BET $21.00. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME EVER FOR HITTING THAT MANY ON A PICK SIX DRAWING. THANKS FOR YOUR EFFORTS. CJD. I get messages like this every day and every one excites me. "Targeting" a number is the only way to go if you're going to play Lotto Texas and Cash 5. I've been tracking the Texas 2 Step and I saw a 4 + 1 win on it too a couple of weeks ago - though that information is not included in the Lotto Report. While I can't keep the "Fun Page" as current as I'd like, I can assure you that by picking one number and only playing the numbers found in the "paragraph" below the "targeted" number found in the Lotto Report, you stand a much better chance to win something quite often. One of these days, I'll post a few of the latest draws to show you that it still holds true. The current Lotto Report is online - go look at number 15 in the Cash 5 and see where if you had targeted number 15 on May 7, you could have had a 5 of 5 win. All numbers drawn that night were in the little paragraph under number 15. That's the latest draw for a BIG win.
good morning Good idea. I've re-done my 2002 results page that shows all drawing results (all games too) for the year 2002. Here's a link - see if this is OK. Click here. |
