* The $175M was advertised at $170M - the TLC never issued a release saying that the
jackpot had been increased nor did the printed tickets say $175M. This is important
because the Mega Millions group "guarantees" to pay the amount advertised. They say
they didn't change it because they didn't have time. This is not true - at least not
according to past testimony regarding this very issue. The TLC said the decision to up
the jackpot was made during the 10:45 AM conference call the morning of the actual draw.
If they can get a press release out within one hour of adopting a rule, why can't they get
the word out about increasing a jackpot amount 11 hours prior to a drawing?
